Would be happy to supply pix, test, probe, whatever - anyone know these well Snapped a few pix for you to peruse.Im about to get a broken (but fully implemented) univibe PCB, so Ill check that By the way, any info about the Univibe reissue The PCB Ill get comes from a friend of mine who had a broken unit.
![]() He brought it back to the local store, who asked the customer support. And for something like 50 (to be confirmed), he got a brand new full PCB, and they did not keep the older one ( ). Well if I put the buffer in front of my Rotovibe it sounds much better very Woodstock ere Hendrix. The only reason I dont use it anymore is that a friend of mine fried the suply section of my unit ( ), since then Id never been able to restore it completely, there a strong waving hiss on the background (even if the pedal is bypassed) on the other pedals of my board, probably coming from its supply. And I set the treadle about halfway.that was the position where I played the Vibrato, so I had something to reference. For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding. They are two different pedals with their own attitude and sound. But I was wondering if I can make adjustments, via the internal trim pots, to fine tune the sound. This wasnt an effort to make it sound like the MDV II, but instead, to see what this pedal REALLY had to offer, once properly adjusted. Well, at first, I was reluctant to touch the trim pots, so I decided to call Dunlop. Tech support was patient, and he actually put me on hold a few times to find someone who was familiar with this generation pedal. And after a few minutes on hold, he came back only to tell me that Dunlop doen not recommend turning them, as theyre set by the factory to bias the internal photocells. Dunlop Rotovibe Mods Install Them InsteadUmmm. OK. Then why are they there in the first place If theyre factory set, why install them instead of a cap Oh well. The pot on the left adjusted the chorus, and the right adjusted the vibrato. While my buddy held some open chords, we found the sweet spot of each pot, individually of course, and closed her up. If you guys have a Rotovibe, you should really do this adjustment if youre not satisfied with its sound, or if you think it can be better. Sold it to my ex guitarist and he managed to lose it (along with most of his other gear) in a nasty band break up sometime after our band had busted up. I marked the original settings on my trim pots with a fine tip magic marker so I knew where my starting points were, just in case. Then why are they there in the first place If theyre factory set, why install them instead of a cap So, my buddy and I decided to go for it. Believe me,if and when I get one,I most definitely will be doing exactly this. Its not whether we think it can be better or not,but what will it sound like regardless Thanx for keeping the spirit alive Phil. Mod away. It also helps that Im using it, and will ONLY use it with a power supply. Can the units that people say are bad, be adjusted to the sweet spot or are they just bad with cheaper chips 2. How do you evaluate the sound Do you adjust it across the travel of the pedal, set it in the middle, or at either end I hope you get what I am asking. The JH-4S has the adjustable trimpots, whereas the JD-4S does not. If you happen to haveget a JH, the trimpots only need to be turned in very small increments. In fact, use a Sharpie and mark the position before any adjustments. When I adjusted mine, the pots were only turned very little.both in clockwise rotation. I turned the effect to its max with the pot on the side of the unit.
